Steve was the son of Gloria (Scott) Turpen and the biological son of Gilford Roberts. Later in life, Gordon Turpen became the man he came to know as his father. He was preceded in death by his mother Gloria Turpen, Gordon Turpen, Gilford Roberts and his Grandparents Gertrude and Lester Scott.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dona Roberts, his devoted partner through life’s seasons; his beloved daughter, Janelle Dattilo (Roberts) (son-in-law Rick Dattilo); stepsons Kenny Parrish (daughter-in-law Tiffany Parrish) and Scott Parrish (daughter-in-law Katherine); grandchildren Alexis Porter (husband Jesse), Brady Cornell, Cole Cornell, and Logan Parrish; great-grandchildren Ellis Porter and Everson Porter; brother Lee Turpen (wife Annette); and nieces and nephews Katherine, Michael, Luke, Peter, and Rhiannon.
Though he had one daughter of his own, many considered him as a father figure, offering guidance and care to all.
Known as “Wolfie,” Steve spent many years at GE/SABIC. Steve served in the United States Air Force and was a proud veteran. He loved fishing, enjoyed westerns, particularly John Wayne films, and cherished the companionship of his dogs. Some of Steve's fondest memories also included time with his Uncle Slim and Aunt Ginny (Virginia).
Steve loved those closest to him fiercely and will be deeply missed.
