He was a Vietnam War Veteran and served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing and loved all sports, his favorite teams being the St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers. Tom was a proud graduate of Central High School. He became disabled at the age of twenty-seven, following his service in Vietnam. Tom had the unique ability to bring out the best in others.
Tom is survived by his brothers, Curtis L. Barrett, PhD (Jane) and Paul Kenneth Barrett; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family expresses its gratitude to the dedicated staff of River Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility (formerly Pine Haven) for the care of Tom for nearly a decade.
Graveside Services were held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Park Lawn Cemetery.
A Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2021 at Park Lawn Mausoleum Chapel, officiated by Pastor Bobby Cox. Full military rites will be conducted.
