Tommy D. Veeck, 65, of Evansville, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 at St. Vincent's Hospital after a 2 year battle with cancer. He was born on February 17, 1955 to the late Kenneth and Bessie (Beckham) Veeck. He was a 1973 graduate of F J Reitz High School. He worked at Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center for 23.5 years and retired as the Director of Durable Medical Equipment. He had a passion for helping people, and was presented the Healthcare Hero award by the Courier and Press in 2015. He enjoyed boating and jet skiing on the Ohio, and spending time at the river camp he loved. He will always be remembered for his smile. He loved spending time with his family, and was especially happy to become a grandpa "Dede". He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jill (Oliver), daughter Kelsey Calderone (Chris), grandchildren Stella and Crew Calderone, brothers Wayne Veeck (Linda) and Danny Veeck (Lisa), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Bessie Veeck. A special thank you goes to the staff of Ascension at Home for all of their compassion and excellent care. The family invites you to join them for a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the river camp he loved. It is located at 15482 Old Henderson Road (7 miles past the Dogtown Boat Ramp). The Celebration will begin with a short service at 2:00 and continue until 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be sent to Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, 3701 Bellemeade Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714.
