

Tony Ray Phelps, 52, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital, surrounded and comforted by his loved ones. He was born April 20, 1961, in Evansville, to Judy and the late Roy Phelps.
He was raised in Evansville and always said he would never leave the hometown he loved. He shared his father's passion for automobiles and motorcycles. Tony and his wife, Tammy, spent their free time on their bike traveling and enjoying their shared love of the outdoors. Tony loved to camp, he loved the water and had become a self-professed connoisseur of food. It was known by all that the Dallas Cowboys were his favorite football team and he loved his Rock 'n Roll. It was often said by friends and family that Tony had the biggest heart of anyone they had ever met and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Roy Phelps; sister, Peggy Sue; brother, Tommy; and by his beloved pets, Angus and Dax.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy (Sandoval-Rust) Phelps; daughters, Brittany Phelps of St. Louis, MO and Amanda Phelps of Evansville; son, Dane Phelps; step-son, Shawn Rust, both of Evansville; mother, Judy Phelps; brother, Chris (Kim) Phelps; granddaughters, Deana, Samantha and Audrey; and grandsons, Ra and Payton.
Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel. Friends may visit Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. The family invites everyone to join them to share memories and refreshments. An inurnment ceremony will be held at a later date.
