Tonya graduated from Reitz High School, class of 1965. She taught country line dancing and enjoyed listening to music, especially classic country.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Smith and mother, Ruby Michel.
Tonya is survived by her brothers, Robert Howell (Charlotte) of Evansville and Mike Michel of Evansville; daughter, Sharla Owens (Gary) of Clay, KY; sons, Jon Gentry (Lynne) of Sebree, KY and Chris Miller (Toni) of Chandler, IN; grandchildren, Jordan Owens (Linda), Haley Gentry, Alex Miller (Martea), Ashlynn Anderson (Brian) and Cole Peterson (Tanya), nine great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Rags.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery, 2200 Mesker Park Drive in Evansville.
