

Unah (Glazebrook) Pfettscher 87, formally of Evansville, left this world to join her husband of 64 years, William G. Pfettscher, in Heaven on Tuesday February 5, 2013. Unah was born in Weaubleau, Missouri on April 26, 1925. Upon graduation in 1943 from Walton High School in Walton, West Virginia, Unah worked as a civil service employee at the US Naval Department of Personnel in Washington, DC and the Army Medical Depot in Kansas City, Kansas. She then joined the US Navy WAVES during the latter part of WWII.
Unah moved to Evansville upon marriage to “Bill” in 1946. In addition to being a wife, mother and keeping the books at the family auto repair shop, Unah worked in the offices of Briggs, Chrysler-Plymouth, and Whirlpool among others. Beginning in 1969, Unah and Bill acquired and moved to the Wagner family farm, at Parker Settlement, in Posey County. While living in Indiana, Unah was a member of 12th Avenue (Westwood) General Baptist Church. In 1977, Bill and Unah turned the physical operation of the farm over to others and retired to Lake Panasoffkee, Florida.
Unah was greeted in Heaven by her husband, William (1921-2010), a granddaughter, Rose (1964-1972), a great grandson, Jonathan (1993-2001), and parents, brothers and sisters. Unah is survived by; a daughter Linda Blanton of Hermitage, Missouri, sons Randall (Wanda) Pfettscher of Bushnell, Florida and Larry (Rise’) Pfettscher of Lynnville, Indiana, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews
Unah was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed, but we know she will be awaiting each of us as we are received into our heavenly reward.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 am Monday February 11, 2013 at Alexander West Chapel, with Rev. John Sloan officiating. Interment will follow at Alexander Memorial Park with military rites. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Monday from 9:00 am until service time.
