Velma loved to sew and liked to make Raggedy Ann dolls and quilts.
She was formerly very active in Salem United Church of Christ-Heusler where she had many friends.
Velma was a former member and active in TOPS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard F. King, Sr.
She is survived by her son, Millard King, Jr., and wife Josephine of Evansville; daughters, Virginia Ann Brooks and Doris Strange, and husband Michael all of Evansville; son, Richard A. King of Evansville; son, James David King, and wife Joan of Florida, and son, John Stewart King, and wife Gerry of NC; brother, Pete Wallace of MO; sister, Rene Bowling of MO; and many much loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Salem UCC-Heusler, officiated by Pastors Al and Tanya Schmitz with burial at Salem UCC-Heusler Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel and Wednesday from 12-Noon until service time at the church.
