Vera Jean Lopez

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo and playing with her cat Morris. She was recognized for her enthusiasm and for being a Classy Red Hatter. Every year she looked forward to Halloween at Riverwalk Community, where her girls helped her get ready for the costume contest that she always won.

Vera is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Dawn Marie Bowers; brother, David Charles Lopez and her cat, Moe Lopez.

She is survived by her children, Mark Wiley of Las Vegas, Shiela Wiley (Randy Chism) of Evansville, Alan (Donna) Wiley of Oregon, Sharyi (Danny) Bryan of Evansville and Phyllis Wiley Biggs (Frank) of Evansville; brothers, Lawance Lopez of South Carolina and Fred (Ginger) Lopez of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Lisa Lopez of Shreveport, LA and JoAnn Denton of Slieell, LA; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday September 25, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois, officiated by Rev. Ernie Stair, with entombment in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM and Friday from 11:00AM to service time.
