Walter served in the Army during WWII in Germany as a Medic. He retired from Helfrich Vending. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1114. Walter enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Lukeman and granddaughter, Angie Burdick.
Walter is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Burdick; sons, Mike Burdick (Becky) and Don Burdick (Mary Lee); grandchildren, Steve Lukeman (Laura), David Lukeman (Lesli), and Chad Burdick (Amy); seven great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Alexander North Chapel, with entombment in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
