Wayne L. Wood

He retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 42 years and served in the US Army Reserves for six years. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and an ordained deacon. He loved 50’s music, fishing, and hunting. Wayne also loved traveling with his wife, Brenda. He enjoyed grilling and smoking meat.

Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Ned A. Wood.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda (Baugh) Wood; sons, Michael Wayne Wood of Newburgh and Gregory Louis (Dawn) Wood of Bakersfield, CA; granddaughters, Emily Wood of Soddy Daisy, TN and Sarah Wood of Bakersfield, CA; brother, David R. (Susan) Wood; nephew, Christopher Wood; and niece, Wendy Thorson.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, February 12, 2016, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. David Cullison, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
