After a courageous battle with cancer, Wendy Jo Christmas, 42, of Evansville passed away with her loving family by her side on March 29, 2022 at Linda White Hospice. She was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 5, 1979.
Wendy was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was also a lifelong Girl Scout and once earned the Spirit Alive Girl Scout Catholic Award. Wendy was involved in church youth groups, an AWANA teacher, Cub Scout and basketball mom. In her early years, she sang in the Resurrection Choir. Wendy had earned a BA in childhood education from Indiana State University. She raised four wonderful children and homeschooled them for the last two years. Wendy was a founding member of the Indiana Constitutional Women. She loved camping and being with her family. Her favorite hobby was letterboxing and stamp-carving which she later turned into a successful ETSY business. Her favorite foods were fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, and mashed potatoes. Her favorite recreational activities were swimming, boating with her dad and hiking.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, David Lee Christmas; children, Elijah, Levi, Edith and Judah; parents, Bill and Carol "Peanut" Wigand, mother in law, Beth Christmas; sisters, Billie Jean "BJ"(Matt) Lakes, Cara June (Nick) Mossberger; and many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family members. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Friends may visit from 3-7:00 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Alexander West Chapel. Visitation will continue on Sunday from noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Gary Pancake will be held at 2:00 PM following the Sunday visitation. The service will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA
