Claire Margaret Watson was born December 11, 1920, in Maspeth, New York, the youngest of three children of John and Clara Stiehle, and passed away on February 3, 2012, in Kirkland, Washington. In 1930, Claire and her family moved to Ancram, New York in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, where she met the love of her life, Glen Watson. Claire and Glen were married May 23, 1942 in Biloxi, Mississippi, where Glen was stationed prior to shipping off to war in the South Pacific. A 3 ½ year separation ended when Glen returned home in October of 1945 beginning the next 64 years of their journey together. Their daughter, Glenda, was born in 1950, and in 1953 Glen was transferred to Everett, Washington by Scott Paper Company, where they happily resided in the same home until Glen’s passing on November 1st, 2009. In their 67 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling the world to exotic places, golfing, and especially the company of their daughter, Glenda (Ron Wilson), granddaughter, Kellie, and grandson, Brian (fiancée Lisa Cagle). The family extends their heartfelt appreciation for the compassionate and loving care that Claire received during the last week of her life at Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland, Washington, and requests that they be the recipient of any memorials made in her loving memory.
