

Oct. 21, 1920-Nov. 5, 2014 Clarence was born October 21, 1920 in Whitefish, Mont. and passed away on November 5, 2014 in Everett, Wash. He is preceeded in death by his wife, Geraldine "Geri" White; mother and father, Freeman and Ruby White; his sisters, Iva Ray, Ila Delaney, Ina Tiiffany; brothers, Eugene White, Clayton White, Clifford White and son, Roy Luellen. He is survived by his sisters, Ida Bartel of Lake Stevens, Audrey Elledge of Everett; as well as his sons, Joel White (Shannon) of Everett, Ron Luellen of Everett, Fred Luellen of Burlington; and daughters, Mildred Beck of Ocean Shores, and Sharon Kruck of Falls Church, Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchiildren. Clarence's father suddenly passed away when he was only 14 years old, which forced him into the workforce before his childhood was over, to help support the family. He went to work in a blacksmith shop, and then a bicycle shop until he was 18 years old, when he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC). He enlisted in the Army Air Corp on December 8, 1941 and served in North Africa, Italy and Palestine. He was in the service for the duration of the war. He then worked road contruction handling dynamite. He drove log truck in Montana and the Darrington area. He later worked for Floral Hills Cemetery for many years, which is where he will be laid to rest. He enjoyed working in his shop where he made toys and puzzles, whirley gigs and tin men. He walked around with a pocket full of puzzles to hand out to any chilld or adult that was interested. He loved children and children loved him. He was Santa Claus to hundreds every year, he took it serious and was the "Real Deal" to those who met him. Many years he would grow his own beard and have it dyed white to be more authenic. He loved to camp, fish and be in the outdoors. He was a longtime member of the Good Sam Club. He and Geri enjoyed square dancing and belonged to several clubs. He was active and attended the First Baptist Church of Everett 1952-1962, First Baptist Church of Darrington 1962-1967 and Memorial Baptist Church of Everett 1967-2002. Funeral services will be held at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy in Everett on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will be Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until the services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Snohomish County Hospice.
