She was born November 18, 1923 in Dorchester, Dorset, England to Reginald and Edith Shepard the fifth of five children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolf Mayer on July 26, 1968 in England; her son, Philip Mayer on July 22, 1997 in Everett; two sisters, Joan and Peggy; and her two brothers, Rex and Terry.
Doreen is survived by two daughters, Susan and (Rich) Marenco; Christine Mayer all of Denver, Colorado; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren
She was a resident of the Mobile Country Club for over 20 years. Doreen was a wonderful artist and also enjoyed playing the piano.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
