

Harold (“Hal”) Lloyd Blomquist age 68 of Lake Stevens, Washington passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his wife and sons at Everett Providence Hospital Friday Evening July 27th, 2012. Harold leaves his wife Sandra of Lake Stevens, daughter Tammy Blomquist of Marysville, sons Brian (Sharon) Blomquist of Lynnwood and Kelly (Robyn) Blomquist of Lake Stevens, “adopted” son Chris (Tracey) McGrew of Everett and ten grandchildren, Amber Blomquist, Ashley McGinley, Connor and Mikayla Blomquist, Stephanie and Kevin Birch, Sarah and Corey Blomquist, Ainsleigh and Kaxten McGrew, and great granddaughter Lilly Blomquist. He is also survived by his sisters Alice (Harland) Munson of Conconully WA, E. Christine (Gerry) Schick of Bothell, WA, Shirley (Arthur) Davis of Deer Lodge, MT, Joy (Richard) Sumrall of Apache Junction, AZ, Debra (Rod) James of Lake Stevens, WA and brothers Jerry (Bethia) Blomquist of North Richland Hills, TX and Daniel (Terri) Blomquist of Sedro Woolley, WA. Sisters in law Lois Bloomquist and Floyce Blomquist and many, many, nieces and nephews survive him as well.
Harold was predeceased by his parents Edore and Edra Blomquist, his brothers John Aaron, Richard, Bernard and Earl, sisters in law Jolene and Barbara.
Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as a timber faller, lumber mill worker, welder and airplane painter. He was self-employed for twelve years as a carpet installer in Washington and Alaska. He was an avid fisherman, backpacker and Pool player. He loved his family above all else. Injured at a lumber mill in 1989 he became gradually more physically disabled but remained mentally strong and spiritually at peace. The Lord has gained a strong man.
A memorial will take place for family and friends August 9 at 2pm at Purdy and Walters with Cassidy Chapel in Everett, Washington.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Providence Medical Center CCU and the Lake Stevens Emergency Response team for their prompt and respectful care. There are no requests for flowers or bequeaths in his name, only that you care deeply every day for your loved ones.
