

June Figgins, 87, of Chugiak, Alaska passed away on October 12, 2012 at Marlow Manor in Anchorage, Alaska. She was born February 5, 1925 in Dorris, California to Pearl and Maud Andrews. June graduated from Snohomish High School in Washington in 1943 and married Louis Figgins on May 30, 1943, when he was on leave from the Army during WW II. She was a homemaker, wife and mother and volunteered in many clubs and organizations and was a member of two Baptist General Conference churches.
Survivors include her daughter, Vivian Cernich, of Chugiak, Alaska; two grandaughters Kim Taylor of Wasilla and Karla Cernich of Chugiak; and one grandson, Kord Cernich of Anchorage. She had seven great grandchildren who are Tyler Null, Kelsey Null, Bailey Caple, Josh Caple, Garin Cernich, Max Cernich and Melody Lankford. There are two younger sisters surviving who are Rena Young of Pennsylvania and Nylene Freitas of California and brother-in-law and sister-in law Kenneth and Hilda Figgins of Lynnwood, Washington.
A private family service will be held at the Eagle River Funeral Home on October 21 at 2:00 p.m. and interment will be at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Everett, Washington on October 24, 2012.
