

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, and Friend Richard V. Pettit Jr. Rich was born April 4, 1951 in Albuquerque, NM to Richard Sr. and Louise Pettit, the third of five children. He was raised mainly in the Exline-Ottumwa, IA area, but lived also in Arizona. By the time his family settled in Washington in his teens, he had attended school in 13 different school districts. He graduated in 1969 from Inglemoor High School in Kenmore after which he went to work with his lifelong friend George Davis at Lynnwood Honda. After he worked there for three years he then followed his father and brother into Sheetmetal Union, which he was a Proud Member until his Death. Rich was to retire this year.
In 1972 he married the love of his life, Robin, and from there they shared together the passion of traveling the world, raising 3 successful children and the love of helping others in need. Rich was known for his kindness and generosity with others. He volunteered for the Cascade High School Marching Band for 16 years, traveling to Russia, England, Australia, and Florida with Robin. As a Family, they camped in their RV's to many states and around Washington. He loved his Pearl White Goldwing, which he was very proud of. All three kids all owned motorcycles, and were known to take many trips on the weekends together with their dad. Tye and Teddy, their Cavaliers, will forever miss his love and affection.
Rich said once said that his greatest achievement were his three children. He was so proud of them for their many accomplishments. He enjoyed all the times they went camping, hiking, biking, motorcycle trips, school activities. Rich was an amazing dad, and husband, who blessed his family with many awesome experiences and memories.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Louise and Father Richard, a brother, and a sister, as well as His Father and Mother in-law, and brother in-law Scott.
He is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Robin, and their three children Shaun, Jennifer, and Randi Pettit, his brother Chuck (Barbara) Pettit, and sisters Sharon Armour-Mealer, Karon(Bob) Ambrogi, and Jackie (Ned) Forrest, brother-in-law Mike Nealy, sisters-in-law Billie (Curt) Siclovan and Jackie (Scott) Dobbie. Rich is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, especially niece Ashlyn and nephew Rob Dobbie, whom he loved dearly.
We have felt the love and compassion of all our Friends and Family, and truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers for us during this very difficult time.
