

Stella Oluwanike Oluwasomi Ogunmola, 53 years old, passed away in her home in Bothell, Washington after a long illness, surrounded by her family and friends on November 29th, 2012. She was born in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria on December 25th, 1958. She got married to Michael Ogunmola on December 19th, 1981 in Akure, Nigeria. She was raised and educated in Nigeria, and later came to the United States of America in 1983 with her husband. Stella and her husband had resided in Louisiana and Georgia before moving to Washington in 1993.
In 1988, she graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education (Biology). Stella had worked for McDonald’s cooperation since 1986. She had been a store Manager for many years and her McDonald’s co-workers were a family to her.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Ogunmola, and her four children, Ronke, Kinsley, Keley and Patricia; including her mother, Dorcas Oluwasomi, five of her siblings, Olu, Apeke, Kunle, Mary and Wummi and lots of other in-laws, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
Stella enjoyed spending time with her children, shopping, she was a conservative casino penny slot player, cooking Nigerian food, watching wrestling and she was very engaged with all things related to politics.
Stella became really close to close to her religious and spiritual roots and became a member of the Open Door Baptist Church.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 - Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Romans 14:8 - If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
