Ginny was born February 13, 1931 in Spokane Washington, the ninth of ten children born to Edward and Marie Randall. She was introduced to John Simpson on a blind date arranged by her sister who was then dating John's best friend. Eventually the four became related through matrimony. After living in Maryland and California during John's military service, they settled in Everett, WA where John was a practicing attorney. Together Ginny and John raised five children and were active in the Immaculate Conception Parish and School.
Ginny loved attending family events with her brothers, sisters and their extended families and looked forward to living at McKees Beach each summer. She worked countless volunteer hours at Providence Hospital and organized fund raising events and bus services for students at Immaculate Conception School. She enjoyed painting, sketching and became an enthusiastic golfer who loved to play in tournaments with friends at the Everett Golf & Country Club.
Ginny was preceded in death by husband John who passed in 2003. They were married 48 years. She is survived by her brother Hubie Randall and her children Cathy Roark of Everett, Chris Simpson of Pismo Beach, CA; Karen Moulton of Denver, CO; Craig Simpson of Everett and Connie Henderson of Bothell, and her six grandchildren, Sean and Shane Simpson, Lara and Katie Moulton, Nicole and Alissa Henderson. Alzheimer’s disease stole many memories, but it did not take away her smile, kind spirit and genuine affection for people.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 2501 Hoyt Avenue, Everett, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Immaculate Conception School.
Private family graveside was held at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park.
