Eugene Fay Donovan

Eugene “Gene” F. Donovan, age 87, of Cincinnati, formerly of Dayton, Ohio and Johnson City, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati. He was born the son of Paul & Lulla (Dutchess) Donovan on July 9, 1928 in Miamisburg, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son James Donovan. Gene is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years Miriam, sons Mark (Joan) Donovan, David (Nadya) Donovan, and Joel (Jennifer) Donovan, his grandchildren, known to them as “Papaw” Brianna Donovan, Alonna (Ryan) Donovan Makinson, Shauna (John) Evans, and Catriana Donovan, a great granddaughter Adalynn, and several other family members and friends. Gene spent his life dedicated to his Lord, ministering His word to His faithful followers, leading the Missionary Alliance Church congregation and teaching Sunday school throughout his life. Gene earned a doctorate in theology and a bachelors degree in education. He taught primary school at Beavercreek City Schools until he retired and many years of dedicated and faithful service to many young minds. Gene was a man of the Lord, an educator, and a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and uncle. He will be missed by all who love him.
