Idy Julian

Maria Ida Julian (Idy), age 94, and a resident of St. Leonard’s Retirement Community in Centerville, Ohio went to be with our Lord on November 1, 2014. She was born near Zurich, Switzerland on March 16, 1920. After studying dress designing in Geneva, Idy came to the United States in 1947. In 1948 she married the love of her life, Peter Julian in New York City. They settled in New Hartford, New York and later moved to Fairborn, Ohio in 1965. They were married for 49 years when Peter passed away in 1997. Idy loved to oil paint and was quite good at it! She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening and she loved to play pinochle. Most of all, Idy loved her family. Family always came first with her. She was always a totally caring Mom for her children and she loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchild. She will be deeply missed by all of them. Idy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Peter, and her brother, Hans Ochsner. She is survived by her sister, Elsi Spiess (Hans), Rapperswil, Switzerland, her sister-in-law, Maria Ochsner, Zurich, Switzerland, her children Peter Julian (Pamela), Xenia, Virginia Wells (Mick), Troy and Alfred Julian (Linda), Roscoe, Illinois, grandchildren Paul Julian, Mark Wells, Michael Wells, Krista Wells, Adam (Sarah) Julian, and Bryan Julian, and great grandchild Carter Julian. Visitation will be at St. Leonard’s Faith Community Catholic Church in Centerville from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday November 5, 2014 with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following.
