

COMPTON – MINEHART Marjorie 89 of Fairborn passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Marjorie is preceded in death by her beloved husbands John Minehart in 1991 with whom she shared 46 years, and Chester Compton in 1998 sharing 2 years with him. Also preceding Marjorie are her parents John and Margaret (nee Peel) Finney, two sons John and Tommy Minehart, daughters-in-law Janet, Darlene and Candy Minehart, sister Eileen Riley, two brothers Eddie and Kenneth Finney. She leaves to cherish her memory four sons and three daughters-in-law Richard and Rita Minehart, Larry Minehart, Bobby and Kathy Minehart, Kenny and Teresa Minehart; one daughter and son-in-law Mary and Jerry Combs. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandchild, special niece Eileen and Phil Johnson, nephew Alan and Fran Riley, cousin Jill and Brian Harris. Marjorie was born in St. Helens, England and met John Minehart who was serving in the US Army during WWII. Marjorie’s greatest work accomplishment was achieved when she purchased and became the owner and operator of the Fairborn Alterations Shop where she was a seamstress specializing in the alterations and tailoring of men and women clothing, she was also a member of the Nazarene Church, enjoyed knitting, crocheting and baking, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. A very special thank you for the excellent care from Hospice of Dayton, Senior Helpers, Day to Day Care Givers and the nurses at Patriot Ridge Community. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends Friday, October 13, 2017 at the BURCHAM TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME 119 East Main Street, Fairborn starting at 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Marjorie’s life at 12:00 pm with Pastor Jeanie McIntosh presiding.
