SEMLER, Robert F. “Bob”, age 88, of Fairborn, died peacefully Saturday, April 28, 2012. Bob was born in Osborn, OH Sept. 8, 1923 to the late Herman & Callie (Axman) Semler; was an Army Air Corp veteran; retired from WPAFB. He was a member of the American Legion Post #526; Friends of the National Museum of the U.S.A.F.; and of the Waco Historical Society. Preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 45 years, Mildred C. (Lytle) Semler & a sister, Marianna Maurer. Survived by his daughter, Susan Semler; his son & daughter-in-law, Steven & Janice Semler; 1 sister, Dorothy Whitaker and a close friend, Harrison “Bud” Golem. Funeral service 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Burcham Jennings Funeral Home. Interment Byron Cemetery. Bob’s family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Air Force Museum Foundation Inc. or the Miami Valley Hospital Cardiac Rehab Department.
