William Lanham

LANHAM, WILLIAM H, AGE 85 OF Fairborn passed away on Tuesday September 28, 2021. He was born in Purcellville, Virginia on October 23, 1935 to Lacey and Helen (Cullen) Lanham. He served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, some of that time in Vietnam. Bill married Bernadette Legner on May 27, 1967 in Niceville, Florida and they spent over 54 years together. He is survived by his wife Bernie. He is also survived by his brother James H. (Cheryl) Lanham of New York and his In-Laws Mary Foley (Demetrious) Agathangelides of Arizona, Louis Legner of Tipp City, Rita Legner (Mitchel) Millard of Kentucky and Karen (Kevin) Bressler of Dayton. Numerous Nieces and Nephews survive also. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters in law Patricia Ann Blair, Theresa Legner and his brother in law John G. Legner Jr. After retiring from the Air Force, William worked at the Bowling Alley on Wright Patterson A.F.B and he managed an apartment complex in Vandalia. He was an avid bowler and loved playing cards, especially Spades and Pinochle at the Senior Center in Fairborn. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 5th from 5pm to 7pm at the Burcham Tobias Funeral Home 119 E Main St., Fairborn, OH. Services will be held on Wednesday at 10am at the Funeral Home.
