Dewayne Louis McCawley

Dewayne Louis McCawley, 79 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Iva Mae McCawley.

Dewayne worked in masonry and also enjoyed his time working at St. Vincent DePaul.

Left to cherish his memory, his children, David McCawley (Belinda), Robin Wheeler (John), Tammy Kane (Joe), James McCawley (Michelle), Michael Martin (Marlena), & Tina Dolbear; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation, Monday February 15, 2021, 10am-1pm, with a Celebration of Life at 1pm, in the chapel of Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Rd. Burial will follow at Mt. Holly Cemetery.

Dewayne was a good man. During the time he worked at St. Vincent de Paul, he was always willing to pitch in with all the staff when needed. He was a great employee. I especially enjoyed the time he would come to my office and share memories and fun times with his family and of course "dog". I am glad I had the privilege of knowing and working with him.

I remember that Dad and I would watch western movies all weekend. We would have our bologna, chips, flat sandwiches all weekend. We would talk about anything and everything.

I got to dance with my daddy for the first time at age 21, after rescuing me from a flat tire on the expressway. I bought him a beer and a pool game for the help. The song was " That's my Job" by Conway. And then hustled 2 games of pool, winning $20 a piece. Fun night, until he got in trouble for being out to late with his daughter, lol.
