He was a retired police officer for the Louisville Police Department, member of Fairdale Christian Church, Kosair Shriner, Masonic Lodge & VFW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Swainston; son, Alan Bryant (Kelly); grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Nicholas & Cpl. Bryan Swainston; special friend and caregiver, Tamel Cammack; and his loving pets, Buffy and Baby Doll.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Rd. with cremation to follow. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday.
