She was a retired cafeteria manager for JCPS, a member of First Baptist Church, and a former member of the Jolly Travelers.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Stinson, a granddaughter, Kristy Stinson, and a great-grandson, Tanner Stone.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Harold W. James; sons, Don Stinson (Regina) and Gary Stinson (Kathy); a daughter, Diane Miles (Steven); step-daughter, Beverly Gathof (Maurice); a sister, Laverne Stivers (Junior); 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 1 step-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, followed by burial at Mt. Holly Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm Thursday.
