Glenda Swanks

Glenda Gale Swanks was born December 13, 1961, and went home April 21, 2022. She was a loving mother, a fierce defender of family, the best sister, aunt, and friend. She always had a smile and made others feel welcome. The world is a better place for having her in it. She was a graduate of Ninth & O Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. She loved being a mom and homemaker. During her career, she was a Dental Hygienist at the University of Louisville and the Schulte Dental Office.

Preceding her in death was her brother, Ronald Gene Overstreet, Master Sergeant US-ANG; and father Kenneth Ray Overstreet.

Left to cherish her life and memory is her beloved son, Christopher S. Swanks (Erica) and grandsons Ethan, Alec, and Ashton; sister, Brenda L. Overstreet-Kopatz (Fritz); nephews, Jeremy R. Overstreet and Samuel L. Davenport (Jenna); niece, Nicole M. Overstreet; great nephew, Nolan Overstreet; and numerous cousins and loved-ones.

Memorial Visitation will be held at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Road, Fairdale, KY on May 9, 2022 from 10am until 2pm with a Memorial Service at 2pm.
