Herbert E. Stivers, Jr. 87, of Fairdale, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014. He was a retired dispatcher at Chevron Oil, member of First Baptist Church of Fairdale & one of the original Fairdale Volunteer Fire Fighters.
He was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Emerson Schmidt.
Survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Laverne Zenor, sons, Larry Stivers, Morgan Stivers (Susan), Michael Stivers (Linda) & Terry Stivers (Becky), grandchildren, Brooke Schmidt (Chris), Kristy Stivers, Dalton Stivers, Michaela Stivers, Nina Stivers, Emily Stivers, Sarah Stivers & Lora Jean Stivers, great grandchildren, Adrianne Stivers, Coeur d' lane Schmidt & Lennon Schmidt.
Funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday at Fairdale McDaniel Funeral Home 411 Fairdale Rd. with burial in Mt. Holly Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30AM-8PM Friday.
