John Thomas Gordon, 80, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 at his home. He retired from Hanson Aggregate after 45 plus years of service. John proudly served his country in the US Navy. He enjoyed spending Friday nights with his brothers at the American Legion Post #229. He enjoyed spending time on his John Deere tractor, in his big red truck and working in Pawpaw’s shop. John found the most enjoyment spending time in the pool!
John was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma; and brother Sonny.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy; his children, Jack (Julie), Bill “Tal” (Jenny); grandchildren, Brett, Shea, Nathan; sisters-in-law, Geraldine, Sue (Gary), Kathy (Ronnie), Pam; brother-in-law, Tommy; and many extended family and loving friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 1pm until 7pm at Fairdale McDaniel Funeral Home. Burial at Resthaven Memorial Gardens will be private.
Memorial donations in John’s honor should be directed to the Honor Flight Kentucky.
