William R. Doss, 86, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021. He was born January 5, 1935 in Louisville, KY to the late Harry and Mable Doss. William graduated from Southern High School and went on to attend the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He received a doctorate and practiced for many years. His father, Harry Doss, was general manager at Byerly Ford. After he passed, William took over his clients, cars, and business for the next 30+ years. The Doss family name may be recognized within the community, Doss High School, as it was named after his father, Harry.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Sloan Doss; and brother, G. Thomas Doss.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, W. Dale Doss.
There will be a visitation held for Bill on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 3pm-8pm at Fairdale McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Road. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Mt. Holly cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of United States.
