 Obituario de Allan Philip Botticelli
On the twentieth of November 2022, the greatest man I have ever known flew his final mission and we, his family, lost our hero. He served his beloved country for 25 years in the United States Air Force. In 1966, as the B-52 H Aircraft Electronic Warfare Officer, he won the 1966 SAC Bombing Competition Muir S. Fairfield Trophy. He continued as a defense contractor for 22 more years. He loved Westerns and John Wayne. He was an active member of the Single Action Shooting Society as George W. McClintock. He served as an Extraordinary Minister, was a First Responder, and an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Diamond at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. He wore many hats; he was a physicist, navigator, CCD teacher, soccer coach. But he was most proud of the one he wore as husband to his beloved wife of 58 ½ years, the former Marianne Bernadette Coffey, R.N., 2nd Lt, USAF. They met at Homestead, AFB. He was sent to the hospital with an ear ache and this “mean nurse” put him in his hospital room (those are my Dad’s words). He was a beloved father to Andrea, Christopher, Michael (Becky), Thomas (Claire), Elizabeth Ann (Curt), and grandpa to Olivia, Abigail, Katherine, Margaret, Ashling, Emma and James; a brother to Ann Lois O’Brien (nee Botticelli), and uncle to his 3 nephews and 4 nieces and Great Uncle to over 15 nieces and nephews. He was a complex man who loved his country, his family, his Roman Catholic Faith and his undying belief in only eating the best Italian food. He is survived by Tietel Brothers of The Bronx, NY Little Italy, Espositio’s Pizza and Pasta, Ruth’s Chris, Morton’s, Wegmans, Bonarati’s, Duck Chang’s, The Sister’s Thai, and Da Domenico’s (which pre-deceased him) restaurants. His greatest achievement was his love, his compassion, his kindness, his ability to forgive, his generosity, his empathy, his loyalty and his smile. We shall miss him every day but we rejoice that he is in heaven waiting in Glory for us his family to join him. May the angels guide you to your target Sir at the right hand of God and may you wait in Glory for us to join you. Ti amo, Daddy. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Demaine Funeral Home in Farifax on Thursday, December 8. Funeral mass for Allan will be at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Fairfax at 11:00am on Friday, December 9, followed by a celebration of his life at the Knights Hall by the church. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of Allan Philip Botticelli to the Dementia Society of America by mail to PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, or online at www.DementiaSociety.org/donate .
