Born: 2/16/1940 Died: 2/20/2018
Betty was born in Sucre, Bolivia on February 16, 1940 and in 1968 she immigrated to the U.S. as a young widow to rebuild her life with her daughter, Carmen Machicado.
Family and friends were very important to her and she often hosted many parties for them featuring her special Bolivian food. She was well loved and known by many names:
To her husband of 37 years, Carlos Jaramillo, she was “Mi Amor”.
To Carmen’s childhood friends Karen, Alex, Lorraine and Marc she was “Mamacita”.
To Patricia, Tatiana, Gary, Chacho, and Roxana she was “Tia Betty”.
She was a loving friend to Debbie, Marlena and Mochita.
Betty is survived by her husband, Carlos Jaramillo, her step children: Chip Eldred, Lynette Gelles, Michael Jaramillo, and Lydia Johnson.
While she will be missed all who loved her take comfort in knowing she is happily reunited with her beloved daughter Carmen.
Friends may call on Carlos Jaramillo at his home on Sunday February 25th between 1:00pm and 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to The American Cancer Society.
