Betty Miller Skiffington, 86, of Fairfax VA, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Fairfax Nursing Center.
Betty was born March 29, 1931 in Timberville, son of the late Robert Allen and Lucy Grace Bowers Miller.
She was the youngest of eleven children and had a strong bond with each of those eleven families. She had 22 nephews and nieces she loved dearly. All her brothers and sister predeceased her.
Betty was a proud military wife of Jerome John Skiffington, Jr USN Retired, and mother of David Skiffington (wife Patricia), Robert (Bob) Skiffington (wife Debbie), Deborah Skiffington and John (Bill) Skiffington (wife Karen). Daughter Linda Skiffington predeceased her at 3 days after birth.
Betty had six grandchildren, Daniel Skiffington (wife Madeline), Laura Skiffington Cordrey (husband Will), Kyle Skiffington, Kevin Skiffington, Michael Harnisch and Theresa Harnisch. Betty had four great-grandchildren, Marie Cordrey, Adam Cordrey, Samantha Skiffington and Katrinna Skiffington.
She was a member of Fairfax United Methodist Church and attended regularly until her elder years, when she enjoyed watching TV church services.
Betty had a full life and her spirit, and her humor is surely to be celebrated by all who knew and loved her. Betty will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with Jerry and Linda at a later date to be determined.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fairfax United Methodist Church, 10300 Stratford Ave, Fairfax VA 22030. Betty's service will be at Fairfax United Methodist Church on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 1:00 PM.
