In 1975 Bruno transferred to Centreville, Virginia and continued working for Unisys Corporation. Bruno became a parishioner at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Chantilly, VA and after an early retirement he devoted himself to every phase of the development of the Parrish for over 30+ years. Bruno was “horticulture extraordinaire” and loved working in his 3 acre garden on Summit Street. He was especially fond of the rhododendron, azalea, and holly that grew in his garden. Bruno was an active member of American Rhododendron and Holly Society. Bruno remarried Veronica “Ronnie” Gallagher Kaelin, a former member of the “First Friday 6:15 Coffee Club” at St. Timothy in 2004. Traveling became his new pastime. The Holy Land and going the African Safari topped all the other places he traveled. Bruno and Ronnie moved to Heritage Hunt in Gainesville, VA in 2008. From his home he was invited into heaven by the Lord on Oct.16, 2015 after a long battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). “His Ronnie” was with him. Bruno will be remembered for his quick and ready smile that would light up a room. He was known for his quiet humble demeanor. Bruno was gentle man and true gentleman. Besides his wife Veronica, Bruno is survived by his 3 children, 4 stepchildren, 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and by many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him. In lieu of flowers a donation to Fisher House in his name would be appreciated.
