Carl R. Jenkins Jr.

Carl R. Jenkins, Jr. Carl R. Jenkins, Jr., Age 89, of Fairfax passed away on November 6, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 24, 1927 in Culpeper, Virginia to Carl R. Jenkins and Ethel Carrie Jenkins. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ann Virginia Whitmer Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nelson Bruce Jenkins and sister-in-law Carol Lee Burge. Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Carl Daniel Jenkins (Debbie) and Ronald Charles Jenkins (Betsy), five grandchildren, Paul Daniel Jenkins (Leandra), Carl Taylor Jenkins (Ashley), Ryan Douglas Jenkins (Courtney), Kathryn Ann Jenkins Yeisley, (Sean), and Kyle Madison Jenkins, two great grandchildren, Lyla Rose Jenkins and Ainsley Noel Jenkins. Also surviving is one brother Willard Howard Jenkins (Anne), sister-in-law Norma Jane McClain, and brother-in-law James Lee Burge. He retired in 1992 after 42 years of service from Dominion Virginia Power where he went to work soon after being honorably discharged from the United States Navy at the end of World War II. He was a 60 year member of Henry Lodge No 57, AF & AM. A funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on November 9, 2016 at Fairfax United Methodist Church, 10300 Stratford Avenue, Fairfax, Virginia. Interment will immediately follow the funeral at Fairfax City Cemetery, 10567 Main Street, Fairfax, Virginia. A Masonic service will take place at the graveside service.
