

Charles “Chip” Armstrong, 66 of Clifton passed peacefully on October 5. He loved God, his family, and the Redskins. Born in San Francisco in 1951 to a military family, his youth was spent in Japan, Panama, Texas, and Kansas before settling in Northern Virginia. After graduating from the University of Virginia, he devoted much of his professional career of more than 40 years as a CPA with Equitable Life and other insurance companies. He would spend the last 14 years as chief financial officer for Johnston McLamb, an IT solutions company in Chantilly prior to the company’s sale and his retirement. In “retirement” he was a teacher’s assistant at London Towne Elementary School. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Paula (nee Allen) Armstrong, their son Jaycen Armstrong (Joyce), daughters Corinne Kinnie and Coral Gallivan (Richard), eight grandchildren and his sister Courtlyn Gorski, stepbrother Tod Hale, and stepsister Betsy Horn. Services will be held on Monday, October 9 at 10:30 am at St Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. 6720 Union Mill Road, Clifton, VA 20124. Interment to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park 9900 Braddock Road Fairfax, VA 22032. There will be a reception at the Armstrong family home immediately following services.
