Douglas Cluny Mcpherson

Doug was born in the District of Columbia. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s from American University.

Doug started his career with the United States Park Police in 1961 and retired from the force after 23 years as Major, Commander Criminal Investigations Branch. While with the USPP, he also graduated from the FBI National Academy. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and was a member of the Clan McPherson Association. Doug enjoyed vacationing with his family at most of the National Parks, beaching at the Outer Banks, deep sea fishing, puzzling and playing poker.

Survived by his children, Lisa Ann Ruf and her husband, David; D. Scott McPherson and his wife, Kathi; Katy Malesky and her husband, Lowell; and grandchildren, Andrew and Derek Ruf, Kyle McPherson, Kendall, Kelsey, and Joshua Malesky.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 10am, Pohick Episcopal Church, 9301 Richmond Hwy., Lorton, VA.
