Evelyn Gene Jenkinson passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 after a long struggle with alzheimer’s disease. She was born September 3, 1924 on a small farm in southern Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents Orvie and Rose Stenerson (nee Hohenstein) as well as her husband Robert C. Jenkinson (Col. US Army, Retired). Despite the sacrifices this life entailed she embraced it with pride, patience and dignity. She was a steadfast and earnest Christian who shared those values with many who were close to her. She is survived by her children, Craig, Gail and Bruce; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her life was long and well lived.
Visitation will be at Demaine Fairfax Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax on Thursday, February 4 from 6 to 8pm. A funeral service will be held at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3233 Annandale Rd., Falls Church on Friday, February 5 at 10am. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Rest in the Lord’s Hands Evelyn.
