

Joe A Willett, 93, of Fairfax, VA, passed away October 10, 2021. He was a loving family man, preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Geraldine Simpson Willett, his grandson, Russell Scott Revell Jr, and his three brothers and three sisters. Joe is survived by his daughters, Annie Revell, of Fairfax, VA, Elizabeth Marti (Dennis), of Ashburn, VA, Geri Hopkins (Jeff), of Ashburn, VA, and Carrie Willett, of Richmond, VA, and grandchildren Matthew, Jennifer, Caroline, Lizzie, Emily, Madelyn and Joe.
Joe was born in Lebanon, Kentucky on November 27, 1927, and grew up in Springfield, KY. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1949 with a BS in Engineering. He began his career in civil engineering in Louisville KY, working for the L&N railroad. He served in the Army Reserves for eight years. After several moves, he and his family settled in Fairfax VA, in 1965, where he worked for the American Concrete Pressure Pipe Association, until his retirement.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman his entire life. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. Turkey hunting was by far his greatest pleasure. He also loved gardening, and worked for years to maintain his beautiful yard. Even in his nineties, he loved to explore the local trails, and make saplings into beautiful walking sticks.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 21, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main St, Fairfax, VA. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, October 22, at 11:00 am at Saint Leo the Great Catholic Church, 3700 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22030. Burial to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park. Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
