February 4, 2018. Mitsu, loving wife to Robert, is survived by their son, Robert Jr., daughter
Sharron, and grandchildren Robert III, Michael & Joshua, great-grandson Arthur, son-in-law
Daniel, and daughter-by-love Stacy. She is also survived by one sister living in Japan.
Born in Kobe, Japan, Mitsu was one of the oldest of 10 children. At the age of 23 she married
the love of her life, Robert Vickers at the American Embassy in Fukuoka, Japan on November
19, 1958. She and Bob renewed their marital vows in 2008 on their 50th wedding anniversary
which was officiated by the late Reverend Les Howell.
In 1981, Mitsu came to know Jesus personally as her Savior and from then on faithfully served
Him as a member of Temple Baptist Church in Chantilly, VA. and Capital Baptist Church, in
Annandale, VA. She participated in traditional Japanese dance with a professional company.
She was an avid supporter of the local volunteer fire stations and the American Legion.
