Born in Swissvale, Pennsylvania, Nancy was a devoted Lutheran whose faith guided her life and the way she cared for others. She had an infectious smile and laugh that could instantly light up a room, and a heart rooted in compassion. Nancy was the kind of person who always put others before herself, offering kindness, patience, and unconditional love without ever expecting anything in return.
She was the heart of her family — a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. Her presence brought comfort, warmth, and a sense of home to everyone around her.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Richard A. Vavra Sr.; her children Richard A. Vavra Jr., daughter-in-law Roni Sue Vavra, Michelle Vavra Beldotti, and Keith Vavra, and son-in-law Darren Moseley. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life.
Nancy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle spirit, and the countless ways she showed love through quiet acts of service. Her life was a reflection of grace, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to be shared when arrangements are finalized.
Closing Prayer:
May the Lord welcome Nancy into His eternal embrace, grant her rest in His peace, and shine His perpetual light upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
