Sara Magis passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 7, 2015 surrounded by her familyi. Sara was born on January 14, 1928 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to loving parents. She was raised in Philadelphia, where she attended the local schools. She is a long time resident of Northern Virginia and worked for the Federal Deposit and Insurance Corporation until the age of 86. Her greatest love and joy was her daughter, Jo-Anne Magis Winfield and granddaughter, Moira E. Winfield. Her other greatest love was her husband, Erston Magis. They shared a special bond and love unlike any she had ever known. Her loving heart went out to all of her friends and family. She was always willing to dive in and help her friends in times of need with a smile and a tender heart. Sara also had a love for shopping, traveling, knitting, and going out with her friends. Family will receive friends for a memorial service at Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main St. Fairfax, VA 22030, on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
