William Edward Woodward, Age 81, died Monday, October 24th in Sun Valley, ID. William is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Woodward (Joe Turrini), Susan Fuhs (Georg) and Laurie Ferguson (Aaron); a brother, Robert Woodward (Margaret). William is also survived by his grandchildren, Lucy, Gio, Carl, Eric, Emma, Ryan and Sarah; best friend, Owen Smith and former wife Elizabeth Woodward. William graduated in 1956 from the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA. Serving 28 years in the US Army and retiring as a Lt. Col, William was an avid bridge player and earned Life Master. William loved to travel and went on many cruises. William will always be remembered as an adoring father. A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 1:00pm at St. Matthews United Methodist at 8617 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in William’s honor to the Virginia Military Institute Foundation.
