

Born in Acushnet, a daughter of the late Maxwell S. and Grace (Hartley) Gifford, she was raised in Rochester and resided in Fairhaven for most of her life before moving to the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home.
Mrs. Lamy was a graduate of Wareham High School, class of 1933. In earlier years, she enjoyed bird watching and was a member of the Fort Phoenix Post 2892 Auxiliary in Fairhaven. More recently, her interests included reading and crossword puzzles. The family of Mrs. Lamy would like to thank the staff at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home for their care and compassion.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana Laycock Macy of Uxbridge; two sons, James H. Lamy, Jr. of Fairhaven and Roger M. Lamy and his wife Barbara of Mattapoisett; a sister, Anna E. White of Rochester; two brothers, Maxwell H. Gifford and his wife Jessie of CA and Maurice M. Gifford and his wife Patricia of Cotuit; nine grandchildren, Dale L. Macy and his wife Cynthia, Tammy-Lynn Macy, Alicia B. Macy, Kristen L. Gargas and her husband Anthony, Carl Lamy and his wife Carmen, Sheryl Lamy, Christopher Lamy and his wife Jodie, Karen DeSousa and her husband Ron, and Janet Lamy; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Arlene Gonsalves. She was the mother-in-law of the late Sharon Lamy and sister of the late Warren S. Gifford, Priscilla Savary, Margaret Sherman, Cynthia Taylor and Dorothy Buckman.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 11am in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7pm.
