Edward E. Martin, age 82 of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in his residence on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. He was the loving husband of Connie M. (Teixeira) Martin to whom he had been happily married for 43 years.
Born in Boston, a son of the late Harry Martin and Marjorie Gallop, he was a longtime Fairhaven resident. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He and his wife Connie, were the owners of Gene’s Famous Seafood in Fairhaven for over 40 Years. He loved his family and enjoyed traveling. He was a longtime member of the Star in the East Masonic Lodge, New Bedford; the Alleppo Shriners of Wilmington, the VFW Post 2892 Fairhaven and the Elks Lodge 118, New Bedford.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, James Martin of Fairhaven; a daughter, Danielle Barksdale of New Bedford; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a large loving family. He was the father of the late Theresa Hardin and brother of the late Donald, Harry and Carlton “Red” Martin.
