Inez D. Gubler

Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Manuel and Olivia (Raposa) Cabral, she lived in Fall River for many years and Onset before moving to Fairhaven in 1960.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, she worked at the former States Nightwear Manufacturing Company in New Bedford for a brief period of time. A true homemaker, she was known for her decorating and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons: George Gubler and his wife Renee of Pleasant Valley, NV, Joseph Gubler and his wife Rita of Fairhaven, Michael Gubler and his wife Kristin of Fairhaven, two daughters: Barbara Reed and her Fiancé Joe Landry of East Hampton, CT and Olivia Dumas-Moniz and her husband Ralph Moniz of Fairhaven; fifteen grandchildren: Theresa, Kevin, Lloyd, Cassandra, Wrangell, George, Pamela, Maxwell, Emma, Marisa, Zachary, Alexandra, Cytdal, Brandy, and Blaise, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. She was grandmother of the late Stanley Reed Jr. and sister of the late Lorraine Tremblay, John, Manuel, Mary and Edith Cabral.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, Main St., Fairhaven. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
