

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John E. and Edith M. (Davenport) Moore, she graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1955 and earned her associate’s degree from Lasell College in 1957.
Jane was employed as a Supervisor in the Marketing Department of the former Sippican Ocean Systems, and prior to that, was a Legal Secretary for Attorney Morton Black in New Bedford. She was an avid golfer and member of the Reservation Gold Club in Mattapoisett and Segregansett Country Club in Taunton for many years.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her son Stephen E. Affonce; her twin sister Anne D. Silveira; three grandchildren, Trisha Affonce, Stephen E. Affonce Jr, and David Affonce; two great-grandchildren, Emmalyn and Makenna Pereira; and her former daughter-in-law Kathleen Beniot; all of Fairhaven and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late David Affonce and the sister of the late John D. Moore.
Her Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1 to 2 pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven, followed by her Funeral Service at 2 pm in the funeral home.
