

Born April 22, 1931, in Cambridge, MA, Stan was the beloved son of Stanley B. Burt and Katherine A. (Malone) Burt. He attended the Macfadden School in Danville, NY, Williston Academy in North Hampton, MA and Melrose High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War as a radar technician and then like his father he went on to career as a union carpenter, working with Local 4 in Boston. He then transitioned to a small business owner before retiring from Polaroid Corporation in New Bedford.
He was always involved in his community and co-founded the CYO Basketball team for the Immaculate Conception Church in North Easton for which he received the Fall River Diocese Marian Award.
Stan will be remembered for his ready smile, his willingness to lend a hand to anyone, and his thirst for knowledge. Stan loved photography, dogs, boating and treasured time spent with family & friends.
Stan is survived by his wife, (Ann) Marie of Fairhaven, Stanley Jr. & Dawn of Bunn Level, NC; Deborah Meggison & Tom of Dartmouth, Chris & Jane of Plymouth, Martha Dauphinais & Richard of Yarmouth, and Katherine Sylvia & Jeff of Centerville. He is also survived by 18 Grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Stan was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Katherine Burt, his sister Barbara, and son Seth K. Burt.
Visitation will be held at Waring Sullivan Fairlawn Funeral Home, 180 Washington St, Fairhaven, on Friday November 21,2025 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A Funeral Service celebrating Stan’s life will be Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Saint Joseph’s Church, 74 Spring St, Fairhaven, MA.
Burial will be announced at a later date, at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. C.E. Burt Chapter 7 of the Disabled American Veterans in New Bedford, MA in Stan’s memory.
Stan will be forever missed and always loved.
