Aden Michael Spencer, 22, of Shiloh, Illinois, tragically passed away on Friday, September 13th, 2024. Aden entered this world at 5:01 am on May 29th, 2002, at St. Luke’s hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Shirley Maryan and grandfather, Bill Spencer, as well as his cherished uncles, William and Michael.
Aden is survived by his parents, Brian and Christina (Maryan) Spencer of Shiloh, Illinois, his dedicated sister, Aris (fiancé Nick Ryan) Weems of Barnhart, Missouri, his loyal brother, Coleden Spencer of Shiloh, Illinois, and his little-sidekick nephew, Dylan Weems, of Barnhart, Missouri. He is further survived by grandmothers, Susan Spencer of Wood River, Illinois, and Diana Sue Spencer of Edwardsville, Illinois, as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and old friends.
During his lifetime, Aden was truly a Jack-of-All Trades. He often worked as a Landscaper and enjoyed hanging Christmas lights and showing his family many of the jobs he did or views he had while working. That kid could do almost anything physical - he was a great gymnast and boy did he love showing his backflip skills to anyone who would watch.
Aden was a charismatic, young soul with no fear and unfortunately, too much confidence in his ability to control his disease - a disease that overtook logic, love, advantages, protection, prayer, loyalty and trust. His family did everything they could to help him beat the demon of addiction that had taken hold, but it can be stronger than mountains of love. We never stopped loving, rooting for or believing in the precious, coordinated boy with a big heart and an observant eye.
Aden never ceased to amaze us - whether that was because of his tender heart, gorgeous smile, quick wit, sneaky mind or subtle charm. He was an amazing and attentive uncle to a little boy that doesn’t yet know what he will be missing. Aden’s attention, gentle guidance and fun-loving physicality with his nephew will be missed greatly, but the impact he had on his loved ones will never be forgotten. We wish we could say that Aden had a life well-lived, but in reality, he was just starting, and his potential for an amazing future full of experiences and love will forever be a gaping hole in our hearts. But we will remember him as a beautiful and kind young man with big dreams who loved us with everything he had. Those who truly knew Aden, felt the strength of his heart and the beauty of his soul.
Memorial Gathering will be from 12:00 pm- 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 28th, 2024 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
A Memorial Service will start at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Ron Habermehl officiating.
